Patagonia Camp is one of the most exceptional places I have stayed. My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon to Argentina and Chile, per the recommendation of friends who had stayed there several years ago on their honeymoon. The yurt was fantastic, and it was a nice bonus to have the jacuzzi tub with a stunning view. The food was fantastic, especially the gourmet three course dinners. Andres, the bartender, made some of the best cocktails I have ever had in my life. I dream about his Patagonia Mules and Piscos Sours! Each person that you interact with who works at Patagonia Camp is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and gracious.
I want to provide a special shoutout to the individuals who plan and execute the hikes. As part of your stay, guests get to go on curated hikes based on the weather patterns in the area. It is truly an art and a science to put these informed recommendations together. You go on hikes in small groups (4-8 guests, 2 guides, 1 driver).
During our 3 night stay (would ultimately recommend 4 nights), we went on two hikes: French Valley (fantastic iconic hike) and Patagonia Historica (Patagonia Camp's name for a particular hike). On the Patagonia Historica hike, we not only saw indigenous art of the Patagonian people (~6,000 years old) and dozens of guanacos, but we saw three pumas (we got very lucky)! While the first two pumas were just resting, our group witnessed a puma hunting a guanaco charging our directions about 25 feet from our group. Our guides, Martin and Nacho, expertly handled the situation and instructed our group on what to do. They ensured that we were physically and mentally safe throughout the entire experience. My husband and I honestly don't know what would have happened had we not had Martin and Nacho with us.
If you are going to Torres del Paine National Park, I highly recommend making Patagonia Camp your home base while being in one of the most magnificent places on Earth.
