Originally booked the room through hotels.com. I contacted the hotel the morning of my stay to request a room with two beds. The woman I spoke with (who later identified herself as the manager) told me there would be an additional charge of about $30. That was fine, but my credit card was charged over $80. I was not offered, nor did I think it necessary to ask, for an invoice in advance. That was my mistake. I called the hotel, spoke to her again. She would not acknowledge my grievance and began arguing with me. Then she hung up on me.
Sad to report a very negative review on a small mom and pop business. But I feel for the safety of future guests, this is necessary. In the middle of the night I received an urgent knock on my door, I had a room on the second floor of the building. Before I can get up and get dressed, I heard another urgent knock. By the time I opened the door, no one was there anymore. Shortly after another knock and a woman voice saying “it’s f***ing cold out here”. Apparently she’s been going along all the rooms knocking. So I called the front desk to report this. Front desk woman was the same woman who checked me in the afternoon, whom I believe is the owner, told me she was alone and couldn’t do anything and instructed me not to open my door. Shortly after that I heard non-stop honking of a car horn, finally a man came out of his room yelling at the woman honking to stop honking. The honking stopped and woman came back up and they began the most frighten fight. I heard door slamming, things being thrown around. I feared she was going to break windows and walls, and intrude into my room intentionally or not. So I called the front desk again and asked front desk to call the police. Front desk lady refused to call the police, instead told me that she’s just an employee, she claimed she checked the room next to mine and there’s nothing going on, it must be the wind making the noise and if I want to I can call the police. WTH, I don’t expect people to put their own life in danger to save me, but not even willing to make a call to the police, that’s unacceptable. By then my young daughter got woken up by the noise, I had to calm her and instruct her not to make any noise in fear of the woman charging into my room while I called the police. Luckily the police did arrive in less than 15 minutes, and even more fortunate for that screaming couple, the man decided to leave before the police got there. But my daughter shook in fear for hours and couldn’t go back to sleep. The next morning when I checked out, it was the same lady at the front desk, she told me she goes off duty after 11pm, therefore she couldn’t do anything…
We stayed 2 nights and didn't have high expectations since we knew what we booked. The bed was pretty comfortable, but overall it's what you expect for a 2 star place. The door to our room didn't lock, and when we asked for help the employee was VERY friendly and nice, and fixed it, briefly. It still didn't relock afterward and when we went to and the employee again, he was gone, not to be seen again.. The bathroom has no vent, but there was an upper window above the shower that we didn't open due to the climate. The heater worked, the room was good sized (not the bath) but it's been hacked together in a remodel. We had to reset the DirecTV, not a big deal, but it didn't initially work when we checked in. So, for a place to crash, with low expectations, it's fine, but verify your door locks before you leave. Like the title of the review says, "you get what you pay for".…
This is the most dirty room ever seen in my life. The furnitures look like never been cleaned, it smells like cheap air freshener so strong so I couldn't sleep, the carpet is old and torn with stains. Everything is old, dirty and dusty. I would not recommend this hotel.
