We decided not to stay and make it a day trip from Natitingou., The taxi back and forth was 12000 CFA and the driver waited for about 3 hours util we were done. The guide was great, informative and super easy going with incredible knowledge, We visited 3 Tata homes, learned a lot about the local vegetation, saw how the live and work and basically had a great time. The end of the trip was at the local buvette. Highly recommended. A bonus was the cheap and great Shea Butter they sell there for just 500 CFA the box as well as their natural honey - great taste. Not to be missed.

What a great experience this was. Pretty real. The staff was great and always had cold beers ready. The food was excellent and served out side. The sand toilet was interesting and makes for a great conversation. The location was sweet, I cycle out from it and our group did a couple of day hikes from it. I feel very fortunate to have stayed here. My tip is if you put the bucket of water that is for your shower out in the sun, it warms up in a hurry.

nice looking building in the local tribal tradition. but the rooms are dark , little lighting in the room and only 1 standing fan. No hot water, only a bucket of tepid water to shower. and 6-8 rooms sharing 1 toilet which needed a layer of sand to be applied after each visit. Had a horrible feeling somewhere close by was some locals watching a large lcd tv with air con and a cold beer...

The lodge is built in the style of the houses in the Somba region. It has spacy, clean rooms and a friendly staff. As usual however a lack of easy chairs to sit in at night with a beer..... Food is good, nothing very special, but good enough for me. You can take a number of walks with one of the guides (our guide spoke French and English). Visiting this region is well worth your trouble: Somba houses are something else!
