Myself, my fb & his brother booked two rooms for a family funeral. My bf’s other brother & his gf, who arrived a day after we did, requested a room close to us. They were simply told “no”. Not “I’m sorry, there isn’t anything available.” Just “no”. They were also charged $13 for parking while we were not! You could tell it’s an older hotel but has been renovated nicely. It was very clean and the bed was comfy, which is most important. We were not in the West Wing, but in the main hotel. Was quiet as well, also important. We found the room warm but you could not open a window. Just a small slat could be opened at the bottom of the window. It did not provide much relief but we were comfortable enough. The bathroom did not have a fan! Nice Irish pub 20 steps from the hotel lobby. Very nice restaurant off lobby as well. Over all it was an ok stay, but wasn’t impressed with how our other family member was treated, so wouldn’t stay here again.…
First of all, the good: the woman at the desk was very helpful and friendly, the beds were comfortable, and out room was clean. The pool looked nice, though we ended up not using it. The bad: walls are very thin - my son and I could have joined in on the conversation happening in the next room, because we could hear just about every word they said, and to me, quiet is one of the most important things in a hotel. There was a cart with half eaten food (including half a full size cake) on it in the hallway the entire night, which I've never seen in a hotel before in all my life! It's pretty dated, but that doesn't matter so much to me if the place is in good repair and clean (is a food cart with half eaten food in the hall clean?) Overall, if you can get a good deal, I guess it might be okay for a night, but we had stayed at a cheaper, quieter, nicer place the night before, so it makes it hard to recommend.…
We stayed at West Wing at Park Town for a night. We were originally booked to be on the 3rd floor, however, when she saw our dog (which we mentioned in our booking), she placed us on the first floor. The room was incredibly small, smelly and we couldn't even see out the window. The room was very loud and we were unable to sleep most of the night. It felt like a dungeon. Our friends were up on the 3rd floor (where we were meant to be) and it seemed like that room was great with a view of the river. We paid $25 for our dog (which isn't an issue) but we felt we were down-graded.
