Nothing particularly interesting here, a few springs/geysers from more of an aerial view. This region also seems to be changing recently, as they had a few areas sectioned off with construction signs or some logs that looked unofficial/temporary.

a quick stop to to see some mud volcanoes/springs after going through Hayden Valley. The lookout has a decent amount of parking spaces along the road.

We pulled off the park road at Sulphur Caldron to have a look-see. It did not appear all that scenic compared to the multitude of eye-popping scenery Yellowstone has to offer. As we were starting to walk back to our truck on the sidewalk that abutted the parking lot, a lone bison was standing at a point off the sidewalk eating some plants. He was big and he was close. We stepped off the sidewalk and stood just behind one of the cars there. He then came towards us traveling down the sidewalk, stepped off the path and walked down into the Caldron. Wow! Another National Geographic Moment for our trip. We then walked back to the overlook of the Caldron to watch the bison. He roamed around a bit and then laid down on his side and starting rolling back and forth (similar to what our dog does) on his back. We supposed the warm geothermal areas feel quite good to the bison and help manage their patchy fur during various seasons. Quite an entertaining stop and by chance bison meeting.

Sulphur Caldron is right across the road from the Mud Volcano which is north of the Lake area. There isn’t much here but is worth a stop as you travel the Grand Loop Road. It is not very popular so finding a parking spot should be easy. When we were here in June, we saw a large gang of elk across the valley.

We smelled this before we saw it! It's just a few mud pots and hot springs along the roadside not far from the larger Mud Volcano area. Decent place to pull in and beat the crowds a little bit.

Esse afloramento fica situado na região do Mud Volcano e é extremamente fedorento.
Não há como ficar muito tempo no local.

As it's near the Mud volcano area, then take a look to this Sulphur caldron as well, but actually it's just a mud pool, not very special or beautiful, there are much more to see in the Mud volcano area.

This area is a short stop. You see how fragile and changeable this entire area is. It will only take about 15 minutes, but you see the river vents as well from the overlook.

We just pulled in to take a peak - that's all it really takes. What makes it interesting (and Yellowstone a little unnerving) is the fact that it formed in the parking lot After it was a parking lot. Watch where you walk I guess!

Located just off the road at the SE corner of the Hayden Valley this is well worth a look. Two sulphur pools, one bubbling very vigorously and filling the air with a sulphur stench. Essentially pools of sulphuric acid.

There is also a bubbling mud volcano. Wet mud splashes up and dries white adding bit by bit to the cone.
