They have so many classic and modern movies playing that you don't find anywhere else. They events they host are always fun and worth the small price. Can't wait for spooky season and the haunted history presentations exploring local legends.

Nicely renovated old theatre in downtown Vancouver. More of an art-house type theater than a place showing latest mainstream flicks. Have some unique events like a live songfest of movie songs on their theatre stage and old classic movies as one-night events. Seats are very comfy, air conditioning is great during summer months and concessions (including beer and wine) are a bit pricy but the popcorn is great and tastes like they actually use real butter.

I love the old historical movie theaters in the Vancouver / Portland area, and this is one of them. But sometimes you just have to scratch your head. We bought tickets online, and riddle me this: why do you do that?

1) Maybe you want to save some time, avoid the line? So we showed up with our tickets and were instructed to join the line. So we had to wait like everybody else, in fact it took even longer than other folks just buying tickets with cash. While the ticket person typed in a bunch of information (which must be redundant, since it's in the system anyhow), the line grew behind us. Bizarre.

2) Usually you can save some money by buying in advance. Even with those questionable online fees, it's usually a wash. So I asked what's the advantage of buying in advance if we have to stand in line with everybody else, and the answer was that we save money. I asked how much the tickets cost when we buy cash, and she said $17. The online purchase price was $20. Double bizarre.

3) Maybe you can secure a place for a very popular movie that might sell out? Well, it's a big theater - this was a first run movie, Saturday evening, and there was still plenty of room.

Now that I know, I'll have no problem ignoring the online purchase scam and just buy on site. But the concept of paying more, waiting in line anyhow, and then receiving false or misleading information about what is going on is annoying.

I'd give you one start except that I like the venue. Just figure out what you're doing with your sales policies and processes. That experience really soured our visit.

An old fashioned, restored Main Street theater with old fashioned movies. We attended the classic White Christmas on Christmas Eve and it made for a special night. Reasonably priced snacks. The serve ‘adult beverages on the upper level. A great selection of classic movies throughout the year like Casablanca. Wonderful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Saw a small independent movie here recently. Excellent seating, lots of local parking, good food within walking distance. I will definitely return again.

The Kiggins was the first movie theater I ever set foot in, when I was 7 years old, nearly 50 years ago. My big sister took me there one sunny Saturday afternoon and we saw all four(!!) Beatles movies! I have never forgotten that day, nor many other fond memories I have of the Kiggins through the years. I brought the first girl I ever asked out on a date to a movie at the Kiggins in 1976.I remember all the classic films I saw for the very first there ("2001: A Space Odyssey", "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World", "Gone With The Wind", "Lassie Come Home", among many others).
I bore my kids with stories of the Kiggins every time I bring them there. This is my absolute favorite movie theater and it's been a part of my life for half a century.

This is the best movie house in Vancouver. Great films, not the ordinary. Snacks and drinks. Very comfortable seating. We will make this a regular destination.

Title: Noir and Wine– Double Indemnity

Kiggins Theater is a single screen movie theater in downtown Vancouver, Wa. It is an Art Deco style movie theater built in 1936. It was named after the former Vancouver Mayor John P. Kiggins. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2012.

The KIGGINS sign is the original sign. The Marque was changed in 1958.
There is no balcony, but there is a second floor that has restrooms and a bar with tables for seating. The KIGGINS sign is on the other side of the windows and casts a reddish glow into the room.

The lobby has some nice retro touches. A few posters, a couple old theater chairs on display, and a few old pieces of equipment or props. Upstairs near the restrooms I spotted a framed series of James Bond photos various actors that played the role. Some of them even appear to be autographed by the actors in the individual photos.

The Kiggins Theater has been renovated and now screens independent, family films, and art-house films. With a few old classics thrown into the mix. Like the classic noir films being screened each month in their Noir Nights film they are doing with the Niche Wine bar .

The Noir Nights theme for this forth edition is Femme Fatales. Screening Double Indemnity on August 7th, The Killers on Sep 11th, and Out Of The Past on October 9th. And having a pre-show wine tasting featuring three wines from female winemakers for $5.

The three wines that were featured for the Double Indemnity Noir Night wine tasting were: Blanc de Cabernet Franc, Rose of Cabernet Franc, and Oregon “Tour Rain” Vin Rouge.

If you wish, you can purchase a glass of the wine you liked best to enjoy while watching the film. The Noir films are screened at 7:30 PM on these Noir Nights.

I love classic film noir. And I love the grand look of old movie theaters and their distinctive marques. So this was a fantastic chance to see these films in a theater like they were screen in back in the day. The tickets to see the individual noir films are $10. And their is also collectible Noir Nights glasses for sale for $10 each.

I ended up going for the full package, paying $40 for tickets to all three Noir films in this series, and the Noir Nights glass. It will be great to come back each month for the next Noir Night. Now all I have to do is just show up. And enjoy them in the elegant retro atmosphere that the Kiggins Theater provides.

You can also buy a few merchandise items at the concession stage. They have Kiggins T-shirts on sale for $20 each. With that great, flashy Kiggins logo on them.

We happened to see the movie Hero last night with family. Lovely Grand Theater.
Loved the feeling of stepping back into a time when the movies were social and community. The seats alone were so nice and comfortable. The movie "the hero," made Ira wonderful experience. Thank you.

Kiggins Theatre is very unique I love the experience of watching a film. On April 22nd 2017 is when I traveled to Vancouver to see the English dub release of Sword Art Online first to say I love the 50 style ticket booth and then you walk in and I was surprised to see only one room past the lobby it was one big screening room which is pretty cool I also respect that the Theatre only plays non main stream movies and indie movies it was a great experience and great popcorn
