It appears Vail is no longer interested in a bike park at keystone. The hours of operation are only 6 per day, Thursday-Sunday. No accommodation for anyone with a day job. The Blue/Black trails have barely been touched and have deep ruts and debris throughout. It appears they are milking it for whatever they can, but no investment or effort. I expect they will close it like Canyons. Sure hope Whistler can survive Vail ownership. Doesn't appear they have a clue how to manage summer operations.

During our visit to the Keystone area, it was the holiday season and there were no biking activities to do. The area is very scenic filled with snow on the mountain and trees.

this bike park has it all. a complete mix of green, blue, black, and double black runs. lots of features to challenge you. beautiful views from the ski lift. you must be in shape to bike the downhills. you think it is less effort downhill but you must be 'on' the entire time and it is a full body workout. the green runs do not mean beginner. you must have good bike handling skills for the green runs. the round trip is about 45 minutes including the lift up. longer to scope features, take pics, etc. i am a local and consider it expensive at $46 for a day pass so i only do it when i have mtb friends visiting from out of town. i use my cross country mtb for the trails and that beats me up a bit. a trail, enduro, or downhill bike would be better but again, being a local, would not spring for the high cost of rentals. the bike park is huge so crowds on the trails are not a problem.

The mountain bike trails at Keystone are no pushover. Don’t be fooled by the name - one such green trail called the Girl Scout was more of a challenge for any newcomer to riding. Especially those cool “old” dudes ,like myself, who are pushing 55 years of age and spend most of the time trying to loosen the death grip one has on the handle bars just to stay alive. I am happy to say that the great conditions of the trail and the amazing service from staff and crew made this a very enjoyable experience. I was only able to handle 2 runs of the course, but each was approximately 1 hour in length. (And that was mighty fast enough). We left with a sense of accomplishment and felt worthy of our cold beer rewards after the fact. Thanks again to the staff and all who work behind the scenes.

In the CO rockies at 11,000+ elevation, "beginner" is a bit of a misnomer and just means "green relative to everything else on this particular mountain." Pretty easy for the teen-thirties crowd. For the 60+, make sure you're fit enough, adjusted to altitude, and comfortable handling a full suspension mountain bike (i.e, riding standing on the pedals, not sitting) or you'll be pretty uncomfortable. I followed my 18 year old down and it was a hoot, didn't wipe out but had a few close calls. Tip: do NOT try this on a hybrid, and consider renting a full suspension vs. trying it on your basic fire road hard tail.

I found the Keystone Bike Park outstanding. Very well maintained. In fact a crew was working on a trail that was in use. I like how they load/unload your bikes on/from the lift for you. Now lets talk about the trails. I found that the trails rated green were more difficult then the greens at other parks but totally doable. As I ventured into the blue and blacks they offered incredible challenges and made the experience incredibly fun. They only warning I have is these trails are very long so be sure to bring your hydration pack as you will get tired and thirsty. I went up on a weekend day and it wasn't crowded at all. Highly recommend.

I concur with everything written--the trails are very well maintained. The green trails are doable for first time downhill bikers with caution. The ride down is a blast - it's long and winds through the forest. We had 2 bikers with some experience and 2 newbies and we all loved it. You definitely need to have an adequate suspension bike for a pleasurable ride. If you want merely a leisure ride, this is not for you - stay on the trails in town which are lovely. Arrive early in the day because the likelihood of a storm disrupting your afternoon is high. Loved it and highly recommend.

Challenging downhill biking and great bike park. Gear up and be ready for this mountain of fun! At this altitude you'll know if you're in shape or not!!!

This place is amazing for biking. The trails are awesome if you love to downhill. We ride the lift up and ride almost every trail there, except the double black. :) I'm not that brave yet. The green trails are not super easy for those just beginning, but they are fun.
