We saw signs for this and followed them, at the end they weren't very good. Drove past and returned. Nice buildings and displays, but for the most part they were closed and there we no volunteers there when we were during operating hours.

Fresno Flats a Must See for families and history buffs!

Excellent family stop or for history buffs! Well done, very interesting, friendly guides. Did you know Yosemite Sam, cartoon character, was based on a local deputy from the 50’s? Historic buildings with guided tours, historic classroom, a one of a kind “rifling” device that was used to create “rifles” and more. A friendly cat welcomes you to the office and the friendly human guide takes over from there. A must see if you are in the Oakhurst area. Five Stars, but should be more!

Lovely Historical Park

Mike was an excellent Tour Guide. You can tell he loves what he does. This little historical town was fun to visit. It is well maintained and Free. Your donations are warmly accepted.
Clean restrooms & picnic area. Definitely worth a stop along your journey.

A Bit of Local History

I didn't take a tour, but even midweek the place is quiet, easy to get to,, and filled with interesting bits of history, from historic buildings to old buggies, tools, etc. The place seems largely a local, volunteer effort and it's very nice just to sit on a bench and enjoy the surroundings.

Good restoration of original town, nice tour and a nice museum. Recommend you stop by! Mike was our tour guide snd he was very knowledgeable.

Historical Place for both interest and fun

We stopped off here to see what was around. We met with Chuck (the docent) who was very generous in his time. Chuck walked us around explaining where all of the equipment came from, the time period of their use, and what it took to operate/maintain everything there. Not only was it fun, but very informative. This place is perfect for both kids and interested adults. They even have time when people dress up in period costume to explain whats going on. Would I recommend it? Yes. Call ahead and take the tour. Its worth it.

Not open for business

Stopped here on a weekday afternoon as it sounded interesting. All buildings locked up and no one around. I wandered around and think this could have been quite interesting had it been open.
Even the flowers were dying for lack of water.
Would not recommend.

Historical gem!

We stopped in in a cold rainy day an May. Two volunteers led us on a great tour of California’s history. They were both so knowledgeable of the area’s rich history. It was a fascinating experience!
