This was our first time here but it certainly won't be our last. We saw the musical Mary Poppins and were singing and smiling along with the packed house on a Sunday afternoon. The entire cast and staff, from young to seasoned, exhibited the excellence of a Broadway production.
Lyric Gianni, as Bert, engaged the audience with his charm and dazzled with his tap shoes.
Bring the family, it's well worth drive!

My family stayed in Oakhurst while visiting Yosemite. One evening we were looking for an activity - and decided to attend the GCT Drive-In Melodrama. The outdoor show was fantastic!!!! We had such a great time - we went back and saw the show again that same weekend. Definitely recommend catching a show at the Golden Chain!

Used to be just melodramas in the summer, now musicals and drama have taken place. It is always fun, the local talent very good. This is NOT Broadway, but then you can come in jeans, enjoy a beer, have some popcorn and you wallet will not be empty. The Golden Chain is a Jewel for our small town, we are proud of it and thanks to all the hard working volunteers, come out and enjoy a great evening of entertainment.

We were there for "'Oklahoma.' Acting was great, set was simple and tasteful, and the event was fun/casual. If I lived in Oakhurst, I would have season tickets.

I've been to a number of plays here, and they are just good fun. They usually have a good Christmas play, and then a number of others during the year of various types.

It's amazing that a small town like Oakhurst can have a local theater with live performances. Thanks to a dedicated group of individuals, they make it happen.
The building is quaint and the shows are fun. It's nice that you can eat and drink during the performance.
Every family should take their children to a live theater performance at least once in their young life. It's a fun place for a date or a group of friends. Tickets aren't very expensive.

Its not broadway but it is a lot of fun! Local talents come together to put on a variety of plays from comedy to good ole melodramas. Very casual, jeans, shorts & flipflops wont be turned away and you can have drinks & snacks. Not expensive good clean fun for all.

Does price include dinner? Would this be good for our grandsons, ages 9 and 7?

I've only been to the Golden Chain Theatre once, and that was for a murder mystery dinner show. As for other shows, I am not sure. Best bet would to contact the Theatre. As for being appropriate for your grandson, I guess it would depend on the play and the age/maturity level of your grandson. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
