Hi Any one can give a review on a travel company
"Travel China Guide"
We booked a trip with Sinorama who just went out of business and worries about booking another out of US company. Thank you for your honest review.
We did this tour and I have reviewed it but my review only included the Beijing part. The entire trip was amazing and such very good value for money.
When we arrived at Shanghai Airport Mary our new Travel China Guide was waiting to transport us to our new hotel. The Hotel Equatatorial was one of the best hotels we had on this tour. Our room 1003 had twin beds and electric window blinds and the usual large screen TV. The bathroom is all marble and very spacious with shelves to store vanity bags. The hotel slippers are very good quality; fluffy and soft just like their towels. Toiletries include soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, combs, toothbrushes and more!
The following day Mary took us to the Shanghai Museum which is one of the best we have visited and we didn't have to queue because we had a few over 70's in our group!
After the museum we visited a silk factory and then went to the Bund for our Huangpu River cruise. On the top deck there was a VIP section with lovely black cane tables and chairs and all we had to do was pay 50 Yuan each (10 AUD) to sit there and this included a bottle of fresh orange juice and a packet of shortbread biscuits. That was a lovely way to cruise along the Huangpu River!
Whilst in Shanghai Mary also took us to The Shanghai Chic restaurant and our Tsingtao beer was in 600ml bottles! The food was typical Shanghainese food; sweet and sour pork, onion beef, dried fried beans, soup dumplings, pancake with spicy noodles, steamed and fried rice, cauliflower in sauce, pork and spinach dumplings, spring rolls, sour fish soup which was really tasty.
After lunch we wandered the old area of Shanghai; Shanghai Old Street and then explored The Yu Gardens which is such a lovely peaceful place despite the crowds. We were there in August and it was Chinese National holidays so during that time it gets very busy!
It was then time for a city drive through the British concession area and it was back to our hotel and farewell to our Travel China Tour guide Mary.
All I can say in summing up is that Travel China Guide would be my first choice if I ever get to visit China again; they are a very professional travel company and their guides are the best. It was certainly value for money and a holiday that I will long remember. All the guides took group photos and have since sent us all copies. A BIG THANK YOU to Travel China Guide for one of the most enjoyable holidays I have ever had!
