I cut ties with a certain job.
I went there on a Saturday, and there was a line at the monument for cutting ties and making connections. The wait time was about 20 minutes. The wait time passed rather quickly as I looked at the wishes written on votive plaques that were on display.
Apparently the correct order is to pray at the main shrine first, and then go through the monument for cutting ties and making connections, but I accidentally forgot and ended up praying later.
I hope I don't lose any bids next year and beyond.
I'm rating it 5 out of 5 because I don't think I'll be able to cut ties unless I give it a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.

I went there before because I had some people I really wanted to cut ties with, and I went back after I did.
I went on New Year's Day, so it was crowded. It's close to Gion, and it's a place where you can feel at ease.

I highly recommend visiting this place, as it offers a unique experience not found elsewhere in Kyoto, nor in other parts of Japan.
It's said to bring the fortune of severing bad ties and forming good ones, attracting worshippers from all over Japan. The stone monument for cutting ties, adorned with tanzaku where people have written their wishes, has a unique, almost magical atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else.
I'm fond of a charm that was recommended to me by a Japanese friend knowledgeable about shrines. It's also something special and unique. While the shape of the charm is typical, it contains a ring inside (which is a sacred object, so the bag should not be opened). It's believed that by touching this ring and visualizing your consciousness passing through it, it can effect a change. This actually worked for me, as I was traveling to change my perspective.
I asked a friend to translate the instructions that I could get with it.
"Going through the torus has the meaning of reincarnation. This amulet is for people who want to break off bad relationships and make new ones.
When you want to break off a bad relationship, when you want to get rid of a bad habit, when you want to change into a different person and start something new, take the amulet in your hand, touch it to see the shape of the torus, and imagine yourself going through the torus."

As a traveler and spiritual experience seeker, I have had the opportunity to visit numerous sacred places around the world. However, Yasui Konpiragu Shrine stands out as a constant sanctuary of faith, serenity, and deep blessings.
From the moment I stepped into the enchanting gardens of this sacred shrine, an atmosphere of timeless peace enveloped me throughout my time here. The towering trees and well-manicured gardens gave me a sense of harmony with nature and instantly put my mind at ease. It is as if the air here carries whispers of centuries-old prayers.
But what makes Yasui Konpiragu Shrine truly special is the mystical atmosphere that pervades every corner. I have always had a deep reverence for sacred places, but I can truly say that this shrine embodies a unique and powerful energy that resonates with my soul.
The blessings I have received here are immeasurable. Every detail reflects the sincere faith with which the shrine's caretakers wholeheartedly protect this sacred place. I offered my prayers with sincerity and trust that the deities at this shrine heard my prayers. Since my visit, I have experienced a deep sense of peace and guidance in my life that I can attribute to divine intervention at Yasui Konpira-gu.
To me, this shrine is more than just a place of worship, it is an anchor of spiritual stability in a turbulent world.

The shrine is famous for bringing good connections and severing bad ones. Although the shrine is well-known, its precincts are not large, and it only takes about 30 minutes to make the rounds. Moreover, it's surrounded by condominiums, and its appearance is such that it is buried in a residential area, and if you do not consciously try to access the shrine, you may pass by it.
The hours of open for the purchase and awarding of talismans, amulets, and emas (votive picture tablets) and the reception of prayers are set (9:00 - 17:30), but the shrine itself is open at night and can be visited even at night (the shrine office is open even late at night during certain times of the year, such as Hatsumode).
The most famous spot of this shrine is the "Enkiri Enmusubi Monument," which has a hole at the bottom of the monument large enough for one person to pass through. It's said that if you go through the hole on the side of the approach to the shrine, you will break off bad connections, and if you go through the hole on the other side, you will have good ones.
The numerous talismans pasted on the "Enkiri-Renkou Monument" and the ema (votive picture tablet) hanging in various places on the temple grounds contain the wishes of various people for good or bad connections, and can be viewed freely, but I do not recommend viewing them with a light heart. In particular, wishes for the dissolution of bad connections are almost like curses, and often cause damage to the viewer's psyche (even if they have nothing to do with the wish). This may be one of the reasons why they are so effective, especially for breaking off bad connections.
