Desperately needs a very big clean up! The approach to the beach is absolutely covered in litter, empty beer bottles, half eaten take away food in plastic containers that attracts flies. Unfortunately we went there on our first day in Fiji and it created a very bad first impression. It's a disgrace. The beach itself is OK though there were waves that would 'dump' swimmers. There are multitudes of far better beaches in Australia and New Zealand. A huge disappointment.

It was a nice beach with a good vibe (horse rides and massages) but it looked like any beach in NSW. Don’t plan your trip around it. The islands have much more stunning beaches. The reef didn’t have much there.

It's a beautiful beach with horses you can rent for a reasonable price. The nicest parts of the beach are in front of the 2 resorts. We paid $35 Fiji Dollars to Yatule Resort to use their beach and they gave us a $35 Fiji Dollar credit that we could use at their restaurant. It was definitely worth it as we were able to use their parking lot and seating area on the sand. However, I didn't find the staff of Yatule Resort to be particularly nice, but we still felt like we got our money's worth. The road to get to this beach and this resort is in terrible condition but it we were still able to slowly drive on it with our 2-wheel drive rented car. Also, there are hardly any signs and your GPS will probably not get you directly there. You will probably need to ask locals, that you run in to, for directions.

Horse treks are also run from this beach $130 FJD for 90mins , or $30 for 20min ride , you can also get your hair braided for $3 per braid or a half hour massage for $ 30FJD....the nearby resort charges $35 FJD to use their toilet! So go before you get to the beach .......

Beautiful quiet beach with surf swimming. Be careful swimming as it has quiet an undertow & dumpers at times. Great massages & if you would like, horse rides. Loads of trees to rest in the shade

Best beach in Fiji by far.
Great for horse riding, massages and any other beach activities you can think of.
Definitely try the family at Blue Cabana Natadola Beach for horse riding and massages. A fantastic experience for our family.

It was hard to get there, do not follow Google maps. It’s better if you look up the resorts and follow the maps (Waze) to get there. Parking was free, as someone else mentioned no restrooms. There is no lifeguard, but there is locals who are willing to boat to your rescue. While we were there 3 ppl were saved within 5 minutes! The currents can get strong, after a while we were asked to get out of the water for our safety. The water itself is clear, we did see some fish but not what we expected. Overall a nice little area.

Beautiful beach, no good for surfing or boogie boarding as the waves just dump right up on the shore.
Lovely snorkelling right off the beach, even some live coral!!!There are locals on the beach just outside the resorts where they offer massages, horse rides, hair braiding and fresh coconut drinks, the massages are much cheaper than at the resorts!!!

Lovely beach, sandy and really nice reefs to snorkel… there are also locals on the beach that offer fresh coconuts, massage and horse riding… the sunsets are beautiful! Worthy of a visit if you have a rental! Very strong tide however and can get quite wavy at times…

Wow what truely beautiful hospitality all a little shack on the beach front. Ask for Jane she and her family have be so lovely and accomodating. She helped me book lunch at a local restaurant/hotel her uncle took my 6 year old son for a horse ride along the beach while mum and I had a lovely massage. Then her staff played and chatted with my so. While he waited for our massage to finish. So nice to hear the waves crashing while having a massage. Thanks so much Jane we will be back as soon as we can! Xoxo

Hi - after our stay at the Intercontinental Fiji we then stayed at the Sofitel at Denarau Island and it took around 50/60 mins in a taxi to get there. Google Maps would seem to confirm this.

We ended up parking at the beach but when we wanted lunch parked at Yatule. To eat there we had to prepare pay $35 each. The food was great though!

Im arriving at Port Denarau on a cruise ship and thinking of going around Nadi and possibly Natadola Beach with my family. There are 10 of us, so emough to fill a mini bus (5 adults, 5 kids). Im wondering are there any drivers that would take us around for the day to places like that? I'm hoping to spend $150 or so (if its possible) to hire a mini bus and driver. Online bookings seem too expensive, so I'm wondering if anyone has had a good deal privately and if they have contact details of their driver to share?

Our group of 7 adults also needed the mini bus and the best rate we found was $400 FJD for the driver to take us, wait and bring us back to our hotel

Hi. We are arriving in Lautoka on The Radiance of the Sea ship on January 10th 2018. We would like to spend 3 or 4 hours at Natadola Beach and have lunch at the Intercontinental Resort. What is the cheapest way to get there? Taxi? Will anyone be running a mini van for passengers to get to Natadola Beach?

Well it is possible to get a bus from the Lautoka bus stand going to Suva but if it is not an express it will take you hours just to get to the Tuvu junction then you may be fortunate enough to find a taxi there but more than likely not. Then more waiting. If you were staying in Fiji then fine but on a cruise ship time is of the essence. You would be far better off to get a cab into the bus station and arrange a mini bus or 5 seat taxi and negotiate a price for the day including waiting time
As long as you have a full complement of passengers it could cost around $30 nz pp. Don't hold me to that price but you can negotiate something acceptable to you and the driver.

What is your budget? I guess we all have different ideas about what is reasonable.
The Intercontinental down there is lovely but in my eyes is expensive (we stayed there for a treat). There is another resort next door that was less upmarket, but I reckon it would be a lot more than a backpackers.
The beach is lovely!
Will locals have free access to the beach for a picnic on 02/01/2017?

Yes I was advised my my lovely guide Roni of Rosie tours that all beaches are public, except of course those within hotel grounds.
