Beautiful though strenuous walk through the jungle to the waterfall, helped by a concrete path and the cheeky laughter of village children who hold your hand, insist on carrying your backpack and chatter with you.
Amazing swim and jump off the waterfall and splash around with the kids.
Our guide made us fern crowns and showed us popping leaves, shrinking plants.
Sadly, the broad smiles faded when we did not leave a tip.
Cost F$25 per person for the village guide (and they also have crafts for sale).
Hot Tip: you can drive yourself there and then the $ goes to the village rather than a touring company.
Turn up after lunch as you will get a village guide to yourself and an empty waterfall (and if you go on a Sunday after church, the delightful kids will be there. We feel bad now not leaving a tip but we felt a bit manipulated).

We enjoyed our hike to Biausevu waterfalls. Stayed at the Outrigger and drove to Biausevu village and took the tour ourself. Cost FJD $25 per person plus (optional) FJD $5 for water shoes. This price included kava ceremony and a friendly local tour guide.

Driving from Singatoka to Suva, the turn-off to Biausevu waterfall is between the Naviti resort and the Warwick resort. It is in the town of Korelevu. There is no sign on the main highway road indicating the turnoff to the village/waterfall. We used our GPS to find the turn-off to Biausevu village. It is about a 10-15 minute drive on a gravel road to get to the village. When driving, be careful of buses as the road is quite narrow.

The trip started with a kava ceremony and shopping in the local community hall. It was an easy hike and our children (ages 10 and 11) enjoyed it very much. There is a concrete path to walk on if you don't want your shoes to get muddy, There are also seven little streams to cross each way to the falls. The kids loved crossing the ankle deep streams.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It is a good half day excursion. We did an afternoon trip and had the falls all to ourselves.

Great half day in a local village ended with a refreshing swim under the waterfall! We paid $100FJ pp for a private driver from our resort, about 45 min drive. This included village tour, kava welcome ceremony and guided walk to the waterfall. Worth your time! Be sure to book local and inject funds into small villages. We used Lino Cappucino - search on Facebook. Very responsive the messenger!

We had the best time going to the waterfall. When you get to the village you have a quick kava ceremony and can buy some souvenirs and then a guide takes you to the waterfall. It costs $25 to go up to the waterfall and you can rent crocs to wear ($5 per person) as you cross the river 7 times, but your own sandals or flip flops would be just as good. Or you can go on horseback ($45). We were guided by Seini who was awesome. She told us all about the nearby plants an forest and their daily life etc. We got really lucky as we were the only 2 people there (3 with the guide) whereas we knew people that went the next day who said there were 50 others. I think it’s better to go later in the day to avoid lots of other tourists. The waterfall itself was really nice and right in the middle of the jungle. There are bathrooms and a changing room at the waterfall too. Seini came for a swim with us too and jumped off the cliff into the water and was really friendly and chatty the whole time. Definitely recommend!

Locally owned and operated, easy walk to a beautiful waterfall. Cool, clean water for swimming. Wear reef shoes on your feet to protect from the rocks. Concreted path nearly all the way, with a few shallow streams to ford. A horse back experience for those who want (or need it). The people were lovely. Lots of fun!

We were travelling as a group of 8 and booked a driver for the day. Our first stop was the waterfalls.
We arrived at the village and were welcomed with a Kava Ceremony and the women from the village were selling jewellery and handicrafts which were well priced.
We met our guide who was a woman from the village. She led us on the 2km hike up to the waterfall, pointing out plants of interest and talking to us about life in the village. It was a mostly flat, easy walk however there are 7 river/creek crossings so reef shoes or sneakers are a must.
When you reach the waterfall there is a toilet, small change room and some picnic tables.
The waterfall is beautiful and the swimming hole is large. You can swim right under the waterfall. There is no drop-off from the swimming hole so you can swim safely. There are plenty of rocks to sit on as well.
We were lucky that there was only a few other people there and everyone was considerate in staying out of each other's photos etc.
We were not pressed for time - each guide only takes one group a day so there is no time limit at the waterfall.
We would highly recommend a visit to the waterfalls - it was a beautiful spot and a nice relief from resort life.

A note: if you are travelling as a group, make sure you pay together to avoid being asked to pay twice. The guide also asked us for a tip.

We did this tour with Lino Cappuccino Fiji Coral Coast tours( you can find him on Facebook) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We got picked up from the Warwick hotel and taken to a nearby village that we toured including a visit to the pre school, local markets and a Kava ceremony.

The guided walk to the falls is amazing but it is a tough journey if you are not fit or are wearing the wrong shoes. The walk is almost 2kms long one way and you cross 7 creek beds that are slippery at times. Reef shoes or sneakers are a must do for this tour.

Once you arrive you are greeted by the amazing falls that you can swim under. We spent a good 45 minutes here even in the rain.

Well worth your time and effort. My one suggestion is that girls and ladies need to pack a skirt that covers knees. After the drive to the village, we went inside the village Community Center. There was a Kava Ceremony and local ladies had laid out their wares to sell. We picked up several items and then walked about the building where the ladies were able to remove their skirts for the hike. The hike was 2.5kilometers through rivers and streams. Once at the falls we went swimming in the refreshing water. It was a bit cool at first but eventually warmed up after swimming around. Our group partook of a picnic lunch that was packed and hauled in. The local guides from the village were excellent and polite. Kitty was one teenage high school girl who shared about the various plants along the way and their useful properties. After our hike back to the village we then took a short walking tour of the village.

Lovely experience at the biausevu waterfall booked through the Warwick resort. ($35fjd)

We were picked up from the resort and dropped off at the Biausevu village for a quick tour, a history lesson about the village and then we were off for a 30minutes hike.

The walk was nice and quick and it was good to cool off at the waterfall. Arrive early as it gets quite busy around lunch time.

Don’t do a tour when coming here- get a driver to take you and a local from the village will guide you for a small fee. It’s beautiful and the water is safe.
