Friends who live in Mallorca brought us here.
Great place to visit. We parked some way away and walked in for about 20 mins. So interesting to see and read the history of the place.
I believe they do guided tours but we just wandered around.
They have a bar/ cafe which was open and as it is popular with hikers, you can stay in their overnight accommodation .
Well worth a visit

If you are looking for a nature walks, this suberb one, mainly in the valley, was recommend by our hotel. In fact there are several marked routes you can take from 2-9 hours. Previous review is very comprehensive so I won't repeat it. However, things to consider: good walking shoes, preferably walking boots. Good paths but stoney. And picnic and plenty of water to drink! Suitable for all walkers. We saw number of Spanish families at lower levels.

I'm reluctant to recommend this place because one of its main attractions is peace and quiet, so the fewer people the better. However, it's fairly remote and difficult to access so I shouldn't think it will ever be busy.
It's a 3 km walk from Es Capdella, or a drive down the Capdella - Piugpunyent road for 2 kms then a left turn down a rocky track for another kilometre, then a shortish walk down a track between almond, carob and olive trees. The beautiful decorated stone walls of the Finca loom above the trees of garden as you approach. The enormous wooden doors at the entrance lead into a great courtyard with a well in the centre, and many of the rooms off have been or are being restored, including a massive semi-mechanised olive press and storage vats. There's a drinks machine and a few wooden benches and tables, and some toilets. The gardens are approached through a separate gate and are very old and beautiful. There is, or was, also a tortoise sanctuary.
Beyond the Finca the estate extends over thousands of acres up the valley towards Galatzo. There are places to picnic, a old Arab well, ancient lime kilns, storage granaries, charcoal burners huts, all sympathetically restored and documented. The valley is full of birds, there are donkeys and goats. Much of the original agriculture of the estate is being restored also, the old stone walls and terraces, the watercourses and trees. You can walk for miles and miles - all the way to Estellences and back if you have the puff. It is another world, an older, quieter, more natural, lost world, being slowly brought back to life. And it's free to visit, bring your children and your friends, but don't bring your dog.
