Excellent music pub with superb friendly owner, delicious beers, live spectacle broadcasts, good hygiene and special gigs. Very central location opposite the city hall. Not to miss in Ghent.

I stayed in Ghent for 4 days and I went to Woodys 3 nights. It’s a reasonably priced bar with a great selection of beers and the owner is sound bloke. It’s great for live sports.

Cant say anything bad about it. Service is awesome, the bartender/owner cares a lot about his customers. Plenty of choices of beers. Everytime there's a football game, he will show it, just ask him before hand. If you have food from somewhere else, you can eat it inside while enjoying the drinks. Free Wifi is always there, free USB chargers are built into the bar, so you'll never be out of battery.
If youre around and wanna have a drink in a quiet place but with great music, this is the place to be.

Hope this is the bar we went to in December and we didnt have any cash on us at the time and the bar did not take card payments! So I had to walk down to Grotenmarkt Square to what seemed to be the only ATM in the city which had a very long line of people queuing to obtain some cash! The bar was small and cosy with high stools round tables or at the bar and a nice atmosphere and choice of beers, just a shame about the lack of card payment option!

Hi there.
There has been a card payment option available since the bar opened in October. There are also Atm facilities at both ends of the street. I'm not to sure Woody's was where you were but I'm glad you enjoyed your night.

Great little bar in the centre of Ghent. I'll come clean and admit that it's run and owned by my nephew but that shouldn't bar me from giving him an honest and fitting recommendation. He has, rightly i believe, not gone down the "Irish pub" clichéd route and has instead opted to bring the friendliness and hospitality of a proper Irish barman to his own unique twist on a Belgium pub. The Beer is great and served up with typical friendly banter. The music mix is fantastic (On the Friday night , the whole pub was singing as one..LOL). Do yourself a favour when you're in Ghent, call into Woody's and say hello to Michael..

I came across this bar while walking round the city center. Nice atmosphere with a good selection of beers. Drop down screen for showing sports. A great addition to Gent's nightlife!
