This museum is a gift that keeps on giving! Every room is filled with beautiful tiles and when you think they couldn’t get more beautiful the next room proved you wrong! Amazing museum, it needs more recognition! The building is beautiful too, i loved seeing the tiles and learning how they were made and the John Scott gallery at the end was just as beautiful. Not so much for kids, but for adults it’s a lovely museum. Was very quiet, definitely a shame as people are missing out on this beauty!

Having spent the weekend at Telford Golf Hotel and Spa we decided to pop in here before we left Telford to go home. What a little gem! I would thoroughly recommend as it is all exceedingly informative and also takes me back to my childhood, some 70+ years ago

We were pleasantly surprised by just how interesting this museum was. We had the Ironbridge Museums annual pass so thought we'd just pop in for a quick look, expecting something like an art gallery for tiles, but there was a lot more to it. The museum explores the history of tile production on the site (the companies and workers as well as different styles and technical processes) and the wider use of tiles more generally. The exhibitions were beautifully presented. Lunch at the café was nice too.

Had no idea about the history of tiles or really about how much we use tiles everywhere and found it so interesting. They had rooms going back to Victorian times with how it would have looked and included a pub and train platform area. They are activities for children as well.

This was my second visit to the museum, and I think I enjoyed it even more than the first. The tiles are works of art, their designs charting artistic movements. Not sure how long we were there but they had to ask us to leave when it was closing time. We were staying at the nearby Valley Hotel which had been the family home of Maw, one of the Coalbrookdale tile makers, and his tiles decorated the downstairs corridors and the staircase to the first floor.
I think this museum is for adults - young children would be bored - and a lot of teenagers would switch off, but not those with an artistic leaning.
You have to pay for the car park (the ANPR failed for us). It seems a bit unreasonable to ask people to pay £1 an hour every time they visit an attraction (on top of the entrance cost/Ironbridge Pass) . We might have walked more but the weather was filthy!

We walked to the museum from the Coalport museum, not an difficult walk but seemed further than we had expected on a warm day. The museum has hundreds of different types of tiles on display, mainly singles but there are some lovely murals made up from tiles. It was nice to see the original building was being put to good use and some of the original tile manufacturing equipment.
Enjoyable, informative, but I think not suitable for children, they would soon be bored.

Very interesting old tile factory. Walks you through the process and development of the tile industry during the industrial revolution. Amazing to see some of the original buildings still intact.

Well worth a visit. Lots of history, and some beautiful tiles on display. We walked from Ironbridge, an easy walk about a mile along the old railway line bed, and the building appears almost from nowhere. Small, probably not suitable for younger kids, but is oldies thoroughly enjoyed it.
