Shame that we paid good money for seats that did not have the vision we expected. Staff in the box office did not help! We moved in the interval. The actor playing Puck was lively and animated but her voice was not clesr or heard by many of us in the audience. Shame!

We saw Richard III on Sept 5 - we were 'groundlings' but sitting on the floor rather than standing. The view was excellent and we really enjoyed the performance. Richard III himself, played by William Mannering, was cleverly depicted: scheming and suitably evil, but with some humanity - and even humour. The wider cast was also very good, professional and engaging. It was a night of high politics in Westminster - and so the play was particularly resonant as Richard's power was challenged... This might have added to the audience enjoyment and there was a standing ovation at the end - among the best Shakespeare productions I have seen for years. Thank you.

I was there for Romeo and Juliet night show on 1st of Sep 2019. The performance was good. Especially Romeo and Capulet (Juliet's Father) acting was really good.
The Theatre was open! They should have clearly mentioned on their description. I can't just find this in FAQs. As I was traveled by my own car I didn't take appropriate clothes and was shivering in 11 Celsius

Midsummer nights dream is one of the 4 plays being performed. I never tire of this play and the rose theatres production is superb, lively and entertaining. The set and costumes are as high standard as the acting.

A delightful show and an engaging cast who worked hard to entertain in a splendid rendition of midsummer night's dream.
Unfortunately some of the cast failed to realize that noises from the wings would spoil the enjoyment for audience members at the sides of the auditorium and a couple of the cast had rather poor enunciation and project of voice - not easy in the round
That said the visual experience was excellent and the laugh out loud at the wall scene was well worth the money - cast, direction and production gave a great afternoon out - thank you

The only disappointment with the evening was the low attendance, but talking to one of the team there, they said it was probably the least popular of the four plays that were being performed. That said,we thoroughly enjoyed it, the location, the performance, the cast and the view. We'll probably be going back this season it was so good. We'll be taking our own food and drink next time though - Shakespeares village was just a commercial rip off.

Superb performance of Macbeth based at Blenheim Palace as a pop up theatre. Actors were full of passion and the set was really good. Highly recommend this theatre group.

Set in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, the pop up Rose Theatre production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, did not disappoint. It was full of great performances, but worth a mention for wringing great comedy out of the text were Franscesca Zoutewelle as Hermia and Nana Amoo-Gotfried as Lysander. They really made the most of the comic potential in the play. The 'rude mechanicals' were also on good form, lead by Paul Hawkyard as the know it all Bottom. It was the fairies however that kept he audience spellbound. Using techniques that were out of 'Cirque du Soliel, they employed ropes and scarfs to showcase some very impressive acrobatic moves. If I had a quibble with this production and it is only a minor concern it would be the gender flip of Oberon ( Claire Cordier) and Titania (Tom Kanji). The play is full of misunderstandings and confusions and this role reversal added nothing to the audiences overall understanding of the play. I really hope that this production gets bigger audiences than the one that was there for this matinee. It really is very entertaining and deserves a bigger crowd to enjoy it.

An excellent evenings entertainment. I haven’t laughed so much at a Shakespeare play ever. All round entertainment in a wonderful setting.

Booked tickets in advance when I saw the Facebook Ad; was disappointed in the weather but we weren’t rained on. The ‘Village’ experience is a bit lame just somewhere for refreshments, we had a meal in nearby woodstock. There is plenty of parking. You exit at the top nearest the theatre if you are parking there. The seats are reasonably comfortable, slightly padded, opted to take a cushion. The play was well acted, my other half felt Romeo was portrayed as too much of a joker, I enjoyed that element. We had seats on the middle row on one side and view was excellent and the sound etc was very good. It was nice to experience a globe style mock up and be outdoors, prob best to take some warm clothes if pm performance.
