Bikes are hired for a ride along the beach. Look for the red giant crabs, which plays hide and seek with you. Enjoy the mohana of subarnarekha

The beach in itself is very scenic and picturesque, but the boatmen made the trip a complete disaster. They were passing rude comments to women tourists and never apologized for their behaviour. Avoid it if you are traveling with females

If you are in Bengal and want to spend some free leisurely time by the sea, Digha pops up in your mind.
But nowadays Digha is far from empty. The tourist rush is maddening. New Digha is bit better. Udaypur is even more better.
Talsari beach is only 7 kms from New Digha and is actually in Odissa. The beach is not yet commercialized and turned into a popular tourist destination. Stay options are limited, with one Panthnibash from Odissa Govt. and another hotel (dnt remember the name). Food options are also limited, but local cuisine is available.
The beach is unique. There is a shallow creek separating the jetty and the beach, which gets submerged during high tide (when boats operate) and dry during low tide (when beach bikes operate between Udaypur to Talsari). Coconut water is cheap.
One may stay at Talsari or alternately stay at Digha/ New Digha and have a dray trip to Talsari. You will love it.

Extremely beautiful, quiet and clean beach... very near to Digha.. around 8km away. Can be visited in early morning or early evening. Bikes available @ Rs 100 for 2 persons and they will give an exiting ride on the beach for around 30-40 minutes. You can watch fishing in the morning and
can purchase fresh fish at 1/3 rd price. Shops available nearby to have tea and to cook those fish. Some of them also sell crabs and prawns and cook for you.

Two different place at the same time. Yes, that's the strange thing about Talsari beach where high tide completely transforms the place. It looks beautiful on a cloudy day and on a moonlit night.

We started our journey from Jamsedpur. It was 2 1N2D short weekend trip. First of all Talsari is a very remote area.As per my experience, OTDC panthanivas chandaneswar is the best staying option.Sea is very near to panthanivas. Allmost consider, sea as own swimming pool to Panthanivas!!! There is no dining option other than panthanivas and food is a bit expensive. You will get normal odisha/bengali food with hilsa, prawn but at higher price.Rooms are cosy and spacious. We had beautiful experience with red crabs. Seashore looked like a bed of red roses. But it is difficult to get a closer look on this intelligent crabs. I would recommend go to to sand beaches by walk. You could have marvelous experience with these little monsters. but if you hire bikes(easily available at beach), it destroys crabs. Better to roam at early morning or evening at 3-4pm to visit red crabs. They will disappear very soon due to this bike torture.

I do not think answer will be relevant to you after 23 hours. In any case, Talsari is around 12 km from old Digha and Bichitrapur is around 16 km from Talsari. The roads are good. However, it depends how long you are going to stay at each place. In Bichitrapur, you can take boat ride also. In that case, it is not possible to return within 3 and half hours.

Dear Friend,
Visiting Talsari is easier from Digha or Old Digha, take a hotel among hundreds available at new or old Digha. Take a cab to visit Talsari.

Hi,
If you have been to Digha....just continue straight past the Bengal Odisha border till you reach a place called Chandaneshwar (around 5 to 6 kms from New Digha). From Chandaneshwar take a left turn and continue straight for another 2 to 3 kms to reach Talsari.
To book Panthanivas...u can check if online booking is available at otdc website or u can book it from Odisha Bhavan at Lenin Sarani.
