We enjoyed some summer sun on the beach and trails.
Plenty of nature distractions to keep us occupied all day. The kids were extremely delighted with the crashing waves and many sea shells.

I would definitely say this hike is moderate (to Mystic Beach) as it does have steep sections and quite a few stairs when you get closer to the beach. It was also muddy in some areas and there are heaps of tree roots (be careful don’t trip!) We came here because of the waterfall but it was only flowing just a little bit! It’s still pretty though, it was fun exploring the beach near the rocks and seeing some wildlife. We really loved the suspension bridge, best part! It is around 4km return, the carpark is small with drop toilets nearby, make sure you lock your car and don’t show valuables. The walk to the beach is quite shaded but still be sun smart!

Great hike taking the Mystic Beach trail down to the shore. Varied terrain, good for families with the reward of a waterfall at the beach. Ample parking up top, interesting stairs and stumps over wet areas… really terrific shirt hike.

This is a gorgeous bit of Canada as a whole and Vancouver Island in particular. It covers several of the prominent beaches around Port Renfrew. Watch out for bears!

Since most visitors to the Provincial Park will be coming from Victoria, keep going as far west as you can on route 14. About a third of the way through, you will start to hit the beaches on Juan de Fuca. Each one has hiking trails, forests, and quiet pristine beaches to explore. Final stop is Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew. Takes a good part of the day to make this round trip but it is worth every second.

A well organised and maintained campsite. Large plots which are thoughtfully laid out so that you have a degree of privacy. All plots seem to have a fire pit. Surrounded by trees with numerous birds including Jays and woodpeckers. Lovely woodland walk down to the beach (about 1k). Campsite is on a longer trail that links numerous beaches. Pit-toilets and no showers (that we could see) but kept clean. Cheap too! Fantastic for families.

Quiet, private sites set back from road. Clean outhouses and well maintained garbage areas. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Stopped in at China Beach section. A little walk down and back but well worth it for the view and beach!

Juan de Fuca is a multi-day hike. You can easily hike it in parts. There are various different entrances which you can choose from. Be aware: once on the path, there are no real shortcuts back. You will have to hike the same way back that you came. Also: there is nowhere a chance to stock up on water- so make sure you take enough. It is an overall easy hike but depends on conditions. If it rained, you might be in for a slippery slide. Wonderful scenery!
