It's a Sikh religious place with great ambience. The place is built in remembrance of the visit of 6th Guru Sh Hargobind Sahib Maharaj of Sikhs. People gathered here daily to offer prayers to almighty. Every month Sangrand and Masya are specialy celebrated here

its nice and clam place to see. its situated in banga road not too much far from city. very important sikh community as well as hindu community. much watch if you plan to city phagwara.

This is one of the few historic Gurudwaras present in Phagwara. Situated at the outskirts of city, this place will give you the most calm and peacefull experience. You will always find this place full of devotees. The gurudwara itself is quite big and was build by Maharaja Dhiraj Yadvindra Singh Mahendra Bahadur in 1950. After winning the battle at Kartarpur and Plahi, SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI came to the residence of Phagu, a great devotee of GURU SAHIB, who frequently used to remember them. But soon Phagu came to know that the Mughal forces are looking for Guru Sahib and thus he distanced himself from serving Guru Sahib out of fear. Thus sensing that Phagu is not happy with their presence GURU SAHIB moved from his place and found a tree a little bit far from phagu's place. Guru Sahib ji rested one night under that tree and felt that place very peaceful. Thus the name sukhchain, which means peaceful, arised.

This Gurudwara has an interesting background.
In the year 1635, Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji fought a battle against the Mughals at Kartarpur and won the battle. Guru Ji moved to Palahi where again a battle was fought against Mughals. The Mughal army lost the battle and ran away.
A devotee of Guru Ji named Phagu used to remember him, so Guru Ji decided to go to his house to take rest. When Guru Ji reached the house of Phagu Chaudhry, he came to know that Guru Ji has come after fighting against the Mughals, he was frightened and did not serve Guru Ji.
Guru Ji understood that he was frightened, and said, "Phagu Da Wara, Bahron Mitha Andron Khara". That is how the town Phagwara got its name.
Thereafter, Guru Ji reached at this place where Gurdwara Sukhchainana Sahib is situated. At that time a forest existed here. Guru Ji took rest under a tree.
The Gurudwara is not very large, but is well kept; there is a small 'sarovar' which also has fishes swimming around.
We went there by our car, there is more than ample parking space.
All in all, if you are the vicinity of Phagwara, this is a historical place to visit.

I go there with my parents and friends. I like that place I spent more than 4 hours there. I decide next time I spent more time there at least 1day thare.

Sukhchainana Sahib Gurudwara is a holy place for Sikh and Hindus. It is located on Phagwara - Chandigarh highway. It is nice spiritual place and having Langar is also recommended.
