I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise that stopped in Honolulu 10/8/2023 and because this was my 2nd trip to the island my wife and I wanted to see something different, so we booked a private tour on 9/19/2023 that we were told was completely customizable for us. On 10/5/2023, we were already on the ship headed towards Honolulu, I received an email from Daniels Tours informing us they had a driver shortage and would not be able to fulfill the private tour we booked. They offered a semi-private tour that included many of the sights we have already visited. That was not acceptable to us. This was very disappointing. If I had know that this was a possibility I would have had time to have a contingency plan in place.

Aloha and Mahalo Tyrone for your review. We apologise again for the inconvenience. Our customer service really tried everything to accommodate you.
One of our drivers was sick with Covid and two were on well deserved vacation. Yes, we were short staffed and we apologise for the inconvenience it caused on your end.
You forgot to mention that our friendly customer service ladies were able to refer you to another tour company for a private tour, but to our surprise you declined.
Sorry we were not able to accommodate that date. We hope you had a great trip.

My wife and I were in Ohau for a cruise . We decide to take a tour before the cruise and one after. We booked tours with just a guide and us. Our guides were Sierra and Ethan. Sierra took the North Shore and Ethan took the South Shore. Both guide were great and a lot fun. The cars were big, clean , and comfortable. The guides knew a lot about each site. They took us to great food trucks when we wanted to eat lunch. They were perfect additions to a great vacation

This tour was FABULOUS! My family was so lucky to have Sierra for the day. She went above and beyond to make sure that we had an incredible experience. We visited beaches, including Turtle Beach (our favorite), fruit market, macadamia nut farm, and stopped throughout other fun places. She taught us a lot about the island and the history of the island. I can not recommend this tour enough. It’s worth every penny and then some. We will definitely do this tour again—-and request Sierra!!!

I booked this tour thru Viator. My best friend and I went on the private tour with Matthew on Friday, July 28. Matthew is an amazing tour guide. He even allowed us to customize the itinerary to our liking (we added Waimea Valley and Byodo-In Temple) There are no words to describe the fact that we had such a great time. It was a fantastic experience. We were picked up at 9am on the dot by Matthew and he dropped us off around 4pm. It was plenty of time to see some of the point of interests. It was just my best friend and I. Matthew was accommodating to our needs, he offered water and if we needed to go to the bathroom or eat something on the way, he was more than willing to make a pit stop for us. I will definitely book another private tour with Matthew again. Thank you Matthew and DanielsHawaii Tours for the best Oahu experience. Mahalo!

Wir haben online über Daniels Hawaii auf Oahu eine private 9 stündige Sightseeing-Tour auf Deutsch gebucht (6 Stunden Tour + 3 zusätzliche Stunden). Um alle unsere Spots auf Hawaii zu sehen, buchten wir vorab online in Absprache mit Daniels Hawaii 3 zusätzliche Stunden, da uns versichert wurde, dass wir dann alle Spots sehen werden. Wir bezahlten mehr als 1200 $ vorab und wurden leider trotzdem enttäuscht. Leider fehlten trotz extra gebuchter Zeit so einige sehr wichtige Spots (Gift Shop Polynesisches Center, Sicht auf Diamond Head und Koko Head, Surf Spots, Aussichtspunkt über Honolulu, Essen bei den Foodtrucks usw.).
Wir saßen leider den längsten Teil unserer Tour nur im Auto und bei Spots wurden wir mehrfach von unserer Reiseführerin Christine darauf hingewiesen, wir sollten uns beeilen. Bei der Ananas-Plantage wurden wir sogar angemeckert, dass wir 6 min zu lange brauchten. Die Zeit benötigten wir allerdings auch unbedingt, da sie uns auf die eintrittsfreie Plantage nicht mit begleitet hat. Zudem vertrödelte Christine ebenfalls unsere bezahlte Zeit, indem sie selbst oft Fotos für sich privat machte bzw. wir für sie von ihr Fotos machen sollten. Ebenfalls kaufte sie sich für sich am Byodo-In Tempel eine Kette, wo wir auch einiges an Zeit verloren haben. Wenn sie für sich Zeit beansprucht, haben wir da grundsätzlich kein Problem mit, dann sollte die Zeit aber hinten rangehangen werden, um alles zu schaffen. Die große Überraschung kam 4 Tage nach der Tour als unsere Reiseführerin Christine uns in WhatsApp anschrieb und sich beschwerte, kein Trinkgeld von uns bekommen zu haben. Bei einem sehr stark überdurchschnittlichen Preis von über 1200 $, wo dann noch die wichtigsten Spots fehlen, da ist für uns kein Trinkgeld verdient.
Zudem beschwerte sie sich, dass wir ihr keine Mittagspause gegeben haben, welche sie selbst allerdings absagte, da das Restaurant schon geschlossen hatte. Somit ließen wir der Reiseführerin unsere Sandwiches essen, welche wir vorab gekauft hatten.
Wir buchten uns bereits an anderen amerikanischen Orten private Reiseführer (New York, Los Angeles). Diese waren weitaus professioneller und haben in der gebuchten Zeit uns alle Spots zeigen können und kosteten zudem nur die Hälfte.
Insgesamt ist die Tour von Daniels Hawaii für die erhaltene Leistung viel zu teuer und zudem wird sich nicht an Absprachen mit dem Büro gehalten. Für diesen extrem hohen Preis ist dies nicht akzeptabel. Zudem wurden Spots aufgeführt, die überflüssig waren (z.B. Wal- und Seelöwen Aussichtspunkte wenn keine Saison dieser Tiere ist, sodass man auch keine dieser Tiere sehen kann).

Had booked a 6 hour private island tour and was definitely not disappointed. Plenty of opportunities to take great pictures around the island. Christine was super knowledgeable about the history of the island and its people and just great tour guide and company. Her recommendations for which places to visit and where to stop for taking pictures were great, did take loads of photos. Definitely a great experience. Thanks a lot!

Jenny was great, vehicle was very clean and well maintained.
Our main destination was Pearl Harbor, she got out and walked us in and showed us where to go.
After we got through at PH she was right on time picking us up.
At her suggestion we toured several great places to sightsee. Saw some whales and some great scenery.

Decided on a last minute guided driving tour of Oahu but didn't really know what we wanted to see aside from doing a quick snorkeling stop somewhere during the day. Decided on a private tour for maximum flexibility. Booking through the Daniels website was very easy and luckily we were able to secure a tour date two days in advance. Contacting the company was a breeze - we let them know we didn't have any set plan aside from snorkeling and they were able to accommodate.
We met Johnny our guide at our Waikiki hotel and gave us multiple options on what wanted to do our tour with the goal of getting a snorkeling stop in. The plan he developed was just what we wanted - a scenic tour of the island away from Waikiki. The car was comfortable and Johnny is a wealth of knowledge - he not only showed us some breathtaking spots of the island, but also had excellent knowledge about Hawaii including the history, the fauna, food, and much more! We ended our day taking a dip in the north part of the island, where we got our snorkeling in - a great end of the day! Having Johnny as a guide was like having a close family member give you a personal tour of the island - couldn't ask for someone more caring and passionate about Oahu!

Sierra provided the most amazing tour for my 15yo son and I. She’s a local, young and vibrant woman who went above and beyond to make the tour exceptional and memorable! We only had 2 days layover in Hawaii and we were jet lagged. Sierra’s private tour worked perfectly to cover our interests and time constraints. She went above and beyond to make it personalized for me and a teen boy. He will always cherish and remember that awesome day! She went out of her way to get us a few things at a small local shop and a special product which I loved! It was nice to see and hear info from a local’s perspective.
