We participated in this tour on our first day in Oahu. Our tour guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable and informative. He provided us with insight at each of the stops as well as telling us the history of the Hawaiian Islands as he drove us from place to place. We took advantage of the snorkeling opportunity along the tour, but unfortunately both my sister's and my snorkel were damaged and therefore this activity was short-lived and frustrating. Lunch was a stop on the tour. We were disappointed with the menu choices, considering all the delicious food Hawaii has to offer. I would advise you to bring cash since lunch and the "pineapple man" were cash-only stops.

We went on an island circle tour with a different company 10 years ago and were hoping for a similar experience on this tour however we were greatly disappointed. To put it very kindly, our driver and host were VERY rough around the edges and made quite a few inappropriate jokes and comments throughout the day that were not suitable for children (and some of which verged on being homo/trans phobic). The "facts" given by our host were questionable (some of which I know to be incorrect) and we were repeatedly asked to give him a big aloha and shaka every time he quoted one of his comments and "facts" which literally (NB: not figuratively) resulted in at least 10 alohas and shakas every hour which became very tiresome over a nine-hour day. The bus itself was older model and struggled to stay cool on a warm (but not hot) day. The snorkelling destination was horrible and was more of a dirty, murky inlet than an ocean experience. As mentioned by other reviewers, the numerous stops (two macadamia farms, two fruit stands, a gift shop, and food truck) were more about the kick backs for the driver and host rather than an experience for tourists. This was blatantly obvious as the driver and host were each given bags from vendors at each stop and our host was clearly annoyed when only half of our tour group ordered lunch through him. The host also tried to sell tour guests jewellery (which was apparently the same as the ones at the gift store we stopped at, but at a better price). We did not complete all stops as listed in the itinerary and the host repeatedly played his friend's reggae music at a loud volume through the bus' speaker system throughout the day when we (and I feel the other guests) would have preferred peaceful background music or silence. We were also (not subtly) advised which stops had ATMs and were reminded that the driver and host accepted cash tips (which we did not). Overall, this was an extremely disappointing day.

We had an enjoyable day on this tour, tour guide was Josh and driver was Henry. It felt like not only a sightseeing adventure but also a foodie tour as we were able to try the super highly recommended Leonard’s Bakery malasadas, sample and purchase flavoured macadamia nuts, lunch on some mouth-watering butter garlic shrimps at Fumi’s Kahuku Shrimps and grab some refreshing Dole whip. We were able to observe the majestic sea turtles in their feeding grounds in Haleiwa as well as snorkel at a distance. Many great sights along the entire tour. Long 10 hr. day but we were entertained and learnt so much from both Josh and Henry. Great duo and fantastic tour!

The tour was great our tour guide was excellent, he was very knowledgeable of the areas we traveled and had a great sense of humor. He stayed engaged with his group the entire time and answered all the questions we had. I highly recommend this company to complete your tour.

This was a great tour for the price! There were plenty of beautiful sights to see and things to experience. Our tour guide, “Cousin Miha” was so much fun and had a ton of knowledge to share about the history of Hawaii and the island specifically. I will definitely be booking another tour with this company on my next visit with family.

A very efficient way to see a lot of scenic views and local sites. You wish you could spend more time at a lot of them but there's only so much time they can allot in the 10hr tour.

Elene bus driver Rainbow Tours was a lovely guide but I really felt he talked too much. Also other guides from the same company would get off the bus with their groups and offer to take photos etc. Our guide Elene would stay behind with the bus. We departed about 1 hour after the scheduled departure time because the 2 remaining seats on the bus were separated and guests coming onboard wanted to be seated together. This was very frustrating. Most of the stops along the tour were ‘tourist traps’ and not very interesting. We drove past a lot of areas of interest and didn’t stop at these places because an additional entrance fee would be required. This tour was a lot cheaper than others, so I would say it was good value for money.

To start it off, our bus driver was completely unintelligible. You could only understand about every 4th word he said (talk amongst the bus was of the same opinion). Secondly, I went airborne twice. Our bus driver just drives over bumps like it's nothing. Thirdly, sitting in the back of the bus and the air conditioner condensation is leaking on me anytime we went over a bump or around a corner. And since the bus was full I had no other option to sit anywhere else. Lastly, this trip is a glorified sales pitch. You basically stop at a bunch of stores they want you to buy stuff. Very little in the way of information and Lunch, you have to pay for it even though it's insinuated that you get it with your trip and the options are very limited. My opinion is don't bother. Definitely not worth the money.

I was not a fan of our driver's rule that the last person back on the bus after each stop is required to do a hula dance in front of everyone. He told me I had agreed to that because "majority rules," but I definitely did not. Being told the bus absolutely will not move until the last person who returned does a hula dance makes it feel like a kindergarten class instead of something you paid for. Even more strange is that he kept doing this even when everyone was back on time. The result was that most people kept coming back to the bus 10-15 minutes each time instead of fully enjoying the destinations. I do understand he was trying to build camaraderie and make us feel like a family, and that part was great. But if that's the goal, we could have gone around and introduced ourselves. I think some gentle calling out when people return late and hold up the tour would be appropriate, and hopefully he will do that in the future instead.
Apart from that, it was fantastic. The driver gave lots of great explanations about what we were seeing.
Many of the stops were basically tourist traps, and an opportunity to spend more and more money along the way. So you may want to bring snacks and water, and try to resist the temptation to keep pulling out your credit card over and over. There are some free samples here and there, but it's a long day with only one official meal. Also note the group lunch is cash only.
Be aware tour buses are not allowed to visit beaches where the water is clear, so it's unlikely you will be able to see anything while snorkeling, regardless of whether it has recently rained. (Maybe rent a car and snorkel gear for a day instead.) The turtles were really cool, but 90 minutes is a long time to spend looking at turtles if you were already wearing swimwear underneath and didn't need to change.
Since O'ahu is the only island where we did not rent a car, there were lots of beautiful sites around the island which we only got to see because of this tour.
