We hebben dik 900 dollar betaald voor deze dag! veel te duur! dit is voor 2 personen naar green island en scuba diving. Wij hebben extra betaald voor een les scuba diving omdat het onze eerste keer was, op het platform werden we voorgesteld aan een spaanse duikleraar. een erg chaotisch persoon die ons binnen 5 minuten naar de bodem wou hebben! eerst was mijn zuurstof fles lek en moest ik er weer uit om een andere te pakken, daarna zat mijn vest nog vol lucht zodat ik nooit kon zakken onderwater, en de spaanse leraar maar steeds vragen DO YOU WANNA QUIT? tuurlijk niet we hebben hier dik voor betaald, We hadden een LES verwacht, uiteindelijk zijn we toch gestopt, we hadden totaal geen vertrouwen meer in deze spaanse duikleraar door de vele fouten die hij maakte. voordat je het water ingaat moet je 2 papieren invullen met handtekening zodat je kan fluiten naar je geld! deze mensen vinden geld belangrijker dan de ervaring van hun klanten.
- Sebastiaan v00Alles nu gezienEen toer geboekt met de boot naar Green Island en andere bezienswaardigheden. De halve onderzeeboot liet het leven onder water zien. Mooie tocht gemaakt en nu echt het great barrier reef met eigen ogen kunnen zien.

Lots of big and beautiful fish blew our mind on the GBR and glass bottom boat. Green Island is a gem with all the modern amenities, good snorkeling and anthers is lots to do. Can't wait to go back, crew were awesome too!

We are very happy we booked the glass bottom boat tour. We saw plenty of coral and fish. The guide was a pro, very informative and happy to take any questions. Thoroughly enjoyable and we learnt a lot.

Green Island trip yesterday 25 October 2023 with GI Eco Tours - very disappointed with inclusions of picnic lunch which was a sandwich, fruit, drink and packet of chips. Sandwich was pre packaged from a company in Caboolture - over 1,600 kilometres away???? Why can't you get a sandwich supplier in Cairns????
Green Island itself, while pretty when the tide is in, absolutely stank with bird faeces covering the pathways and tables and chairs and vegetation so overgrown it looked very neglected and dirty.
There are better places to spend your day and hard earned money! Don't bother coming here till they get their act together!!!

I have been back for two weeks from our Great Adventures Green Island trip but am still feeling so disappointed in the company's behaviour. We only went on the Green Island tour to do the Seawalker Helmet activity. We booked a month out so as not to miss out. We were not interested in Green Island itself after reading reviews elsewhere which I found to be accurate. When we booked there was no clear information on what medical conditions may stop you participating in the Seawalker Helmet activity nor any recommendation to seek a doctors advice or even have them sign off on participation. The website describes the Seawalker Helmet activity as "Easy
It’s fun and easy! Ideal for non-swimmers and no experience is necessary."
On the day we checked in, were not asked any medical questions and told someone would come and see us on the boat to book a time and fill in paperwork.
On the boat we filled out the paperwork including medical questions. We were told that my partners diabetes immediately excluded her from participating in the activity. I was then told that my Fibromyalgia would need to be approved by a doctor and that could not happen now. As I mentioned before there is nothing on the website which states what is automatically excluded or when a medical clearance should be sought. Given you are already on the boat travelling to the island when you are told this for the first time you are now locked into the Green Island trip whether you want it or not. In our case our day had been put aside for the Seawalker activity and we had been looking forward to it for sometime. If we had of been asked questions after booking or prior to boarding we could have made an informed decision about whether to even get on the boat. Once again though there was no clear information on the website to read prior to booking to ensure you were suitable to participate which I think given the description of an easy activity should be readily highlighted.
Things then got however worse. The supervisor on the boat came and told us he had spoken to the person who gave us our tickets and they said we had told them we had no medical conditions. This was absolutely untrue. We were never asked anything like that. This just ruined the day even more by being called liars. After several days after making a complaint we got an email stating they could have made a mistake and we may not have lied as we were told we had. The first email complaint was ignored. In the company response it still did not say people were advised of exclusions prior to boarding. We were referred to terms on the website which still did not say conditions such as diabetes are automatically excluded.
Another issue is that when you are discussing medical issues on board it is not in a private manner as the boats are at capacity and strangers are sitting with you and able to hear the conversation. All of this could be solved with information being provided at the time of booking. We asked the supervisor on board why automatic exclusions such as diabetes are not listed and he advised there were hundreds which made it too hard to list them all.
Great Adventures did refund the Seawalker cost but despite an offer on board to discuss contacting the office about refunding the full amount this never occurred. To be deemed liars and stuck on a trip we did not want ruined what was supposed to be an amazing day.
We did do the glass bottom boat tour while on the island which was very well run.
I don't want anyone else to be in the same situation as us if they have any type of medical condition.

I’m sorry to hear that you were unable to do Seawalker as you had planned- I can only begin to understand how disappointing this would have been for you.
Information on medical conditions is provided on the Tour Details page of the Seawalker website (https://seawalker.com.au/#tripdetails) , towards the bottom of the page, where it has a link directing you to our “Scuba & Helmet Diving Safety and Medical Information” document (https://www.quicksilvergroup.com.au/divemedical.html). The same information is also available on the Great Adventures website (https://greatadventures.com.au/tours-green-island/seawalker/) as well as in the terms and conditions document that is required reading before being allowed to book online .
The information contained in this document is a guide, however the decision regarding whether or not a person can safely participate in an underwater activity remains at the discretion of the dive supervisor, and takes into account their Duty of Care towards passengers and dive staff.
I sincerely hope that you were able to experience at least some of the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef through your glass bottom boat trip, and that you were able to enjoy the rest of your visit to Cairns.

Biggest waste of money. Glass bottom boat, about 20 min duration hardly stopped to look at anything. Private event closed most things for the day even the crocodile enclosure. $28 for a small ordinary burger and a dozen chips. $11 beers. Over priced and your a captive to the robbery. 😡

Very well organized trip by Great Adventure. Over all it was very nice experience at green island and outer Great Barrier Reef as well.
Snorkeling guide, Jun, is a great trainer. He knows how to guide beginners & be little patient with them.
He showed me step by step how to use the snorkeling gears and made sure I am able to snorkel comfortably. He explained safety measures & gave different solutions/ resources and made sure I am able to enjoy the snorkeling journey at Great Barrier Reef. Jun was very enthusiastic & gave information about so many corals. It was amazing to see & touch the corals without fear.
I don’t have regrets of spending $72 for the snorkeling because of experienced guide like Jun.

The boat trip was fine though a lot of people like to sit outside and there wasnt many outside seats going over and virtually none going back. Chose snorkelling. There is very little live coral left. Found two pretty dismal sites that involved a long swim. The older western man in the snorkel and fin shop was very rude. Spoke to me like I was a complete idiot. Humiliated me in front of everyone. Not suited to tourism at all. Overall, not worth the money.

We had the best time exploring Green Island and relaxing by the water. We even decided to snorkel around the island which was fabulous, we even saw a turtle! The glass bottom boat was incredible. Loved learning about the coral and sea life. All staff were so friendly and professional. Despite the other reviews, we found the whole trip including meals on the island very reasonable priced!
