Reyes was absolutely exceptional, we had an incredible trip to Tikal with him. Everything was extremely easy and well thought out; including border crossing, entrance into tikal and the route around the sites, it was all very professional and engaging. His knowledge of the sites, the history and the culture was great and answered all questions - you could see he had a passion for the area. Reyes provided a brilliant service including taking great photos, an introduction to Spanish language and a great little tour when dropping us back off at our accommodation. Really appreciate the effort and the friendly face. Would recommend and would do again. Thanks Reyes.

Reyes is an excellent guide and was extremely accommodating with our trip needs, which involved a transfer from Flores to San Ignacio and a 17 month old baby! He made sure we were able to see as much as possible while still ensuring we could get the baby fed and napping on schedule. He even helped carry our stroller over obstacles when needed and I one point I saw him holding the keychain on his keys while driving to keep the jingling from waking the baby which is over the top considerate! His knowledge of Tikal was impressive, in addition to fun facts about the country, culture and people. Reyes also took the time to take pictures and videos on his phone and compile a cool GoPro video/picture collage for us which he sent to us after the trip. Highly recommend going on this tour with him!!

Reyes knows everything about the Maya and he is excited by the history. Warning, he is charismatic and will be eye candy for the ladies. He also pays close attention to your needs. He hooked us up with local street food when we were hungry. Very tasty!

Had a wonderful experience with Rayes. He was able to answer all of my obscure questions about the Maya, the Popul Vuh, Tikal, the local flora and fauna and just about anything else I could think to ask. In top of that he was charismatic and friendly. I and coincidentally the couple that went on the tour with me and my father, are vegan. He was very good about providing us with a high quality (and authentic) vegan breakfast and lunch. As nice as he was it's clear he takes his job very seriously and knows his stuff. If you are going to Tikal and want the most from the experience you owe it to yourself to hire this dude!

It was a great experience. And our guide, Reyes, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Never rushed us and gave time to see and climb any pyramid we wanted to see. In addition, he took pictures of us in the most important places in Tikal. Will definitely go back again!

I cannot say enough about Reyes knowledge, professionalism, flexibility, preparedness and kindness. I usually do not write reviews, but ironically I base my selections on them. Therefore, I hope my review will help others choose the best of the best. We booked through Mayan Walks from San Ignacio, but if I could do this again, I would book directly through Reyes.
As a plus, he took lots of pictures/video of us. I am a picture person, thus I was for sure thrilled when he offered to take them. Not only he is the best guide we could have had, but an awesome photographer!

We just got back from a full day private tour with Reyes. I am usually not a tour person, but so so glad that we booked this tour. Reyes and Hayley were incredible at communication prior to the tour and provided tips that would help us the day of. We got to the border right before 730 am on Sunday. Spent just over 30 minutes on immigration. Reyes was on the other side of the border waiting for us. We drove in a 10-seater, extremely comfortable van. Reyes's knowledge of the Mayas, Belize and Guatemala is incredible. Reyes is a thorough professional and exactly how a tour guide should be! I loved how patient Reyes was with our 2 little travelers. Our 5 and 7 year old boys felt extremely comfortable asking Reyes questions as we hiked through a couple of shortcuts between the temples. We wrapped up the tour with a delicious meal. We had mentioned wanting to try local food - black beans and rice on our drive to the site. Reyes remembered that hours later at Lunch and brought a plate for us just to try it! So grateful! Oh lastly.. the icing on the cake was the amazing pictures Reyes took of our family as explored the ruins. Yes, not only is he an extremely knowledgable person, he's also a great photographer!

Wow, just wow!
What an amazing day! Reyes’s knowledge of Tikal, Mayan culture and history made for an unforgettable experience.
Reyes met us at the border and drove us through the beautiful countryside of Guatemala over which our conversations ranged from Guatamalan and Belizean history, educational systems, politics, industry and culture. I felt like we were chatting with a living encyclopedia. And this is before we even made it to Tikal.
Tikal is a special place, brought to life by Reyes. His stories and ability to bring history to life was unlike I’ve ever experienced. His love for the site, the animals and plants is evident and we were blessed to have shared a day with him.
I saved his number and can’t wait for our next visit

My husband and spent an amazing day with Reyes in Tikal yesterday 1-9-2023! His expert knowledge of Tikal rocked our world. The experience was one of the best days of my life. He wasn’t referring to note cards as he spelled out archeological facts, architectural features of the temples and was easily reading the Mayan glyphs. He came prepared to answer questions about birds, mammals, insects, plants/trees and ancient life in Guatemala! This was a bucket list dream come true for me! My husband and I have traveled the world hiring guides in places most people don’t even know exist. Reyes exceeded all of our expectations! He speaks many languages clearly and precisely, safety conscience every minute, super friendly and knew the best way to do everything. He even showed us where to walk, and all the short cuts around the massive the site to enhance our experience. His time manage was invaluable, we never wasted a minute! He air dropped pictures of me and my husband as we said good bye, his photography was incredible. God speed Reyes, you are the best guide EVER!

Reyes was the perfect tour guide, taking us from the Belize border through the ruins at Tikal. He was sensitive to our schedule, helping us to order food before we arrived at the restaurant for lunch to minimize waiting (and food was wonderful!). He was very knowledgeable, provided interesting information to a wide age range (ages 8-85, including teens), had great visual aids, and adapted well to our mobility constraints. He is such a pleasant and kind guide that you will want to stay in Tikal longer!
